In a candle warmer, the halogen bulb&#8217;s job is to gently melt the wax of a jar candle from above \u2014 releasing fragrance without an open flame. The warm glow is a side benefit; the function being sold is <strong>wax warming, not illumination<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3>Where U.S. regulations stand<\/h3>\n<p>The 2023 U.S. general service lamp rules target bulbs sold for <em>general illumination<\/em>. Halogen GU10 bulbs supplied as <strong>replacement components for wax warmers<\/strong> are currently not affected by those rules.
